About Me

So, basically this blog was started by envy. Kulam Ikan Tetangga (the neighbor's fish pond) is a variation to the saying that goes "the neighbor's Grass is always greener". The Neighbor's Fish Pond will always have fatter and more fish (than your own fishpond). And so it is.

Fashion Emergence(y)

Today I discovered something new about myself.

My level of fashion awareness had only gone as far as boring. It's nothing new.  I hardly put fashion on the top of my priority list. Learning what looks good on me and what's not is a journey of a thousand light-years. Only just recently I started to get a  clear grasp on what I would like to wear shamelessly because it's comfortable.

The famous fashion blog The Sartorialist is one of a list of blogs I followed. I partially use it as a fashion guidelines. Just partially. I love the gorgeous photos, but I don't think I would have the patience and budget to create a look that is "moi". For starter, I know I am not that original. Getting ideas from a famous fashion blog definitely throws 'original' out of the window. I think you're only you when you do it all yourself, without any fashion blog/lifestyle magazine influences, ideas or help.

This morning the boring unoriginal moi stumbled upon Sartorialist's new post on the Bottega Veneta's latest collection. It intrigued me so much that I had to create a blog post about it. Hm.

For the last 15 years I have grown more and more curvy and feminine, it is impossible to wear anything androgynous. Men don't have boobs and butts. The fact that usually I can only fit on men's size--which means I usually buy at the men's clothes department in stores *boo hoo hoo*--is giving me such depressive contradiction that might pose serious psychological risk upon my mental health. So yes, I am naturally attracted to masculine designs, although I know I would probably looked like a ketupat or overflowing lontong in one.

I love this look. From the shirt to the shorts to the bag and the sandals. If I were to be 2 stones skinnier, I would wear this almost every single day. Almost. I especially LOVE the sandals and shorts combination. *sigh*

The shirt detail... WANT! The model doesn't have moobs, but I am sure this shirt would look just fine with my boobs.

This I found a bit strange, since this design can easily be worn by women, and actually looked a bit *cough* gay *cough* on men. I would wear the jacket and the shorts and the sandals, but not the inner shirt thing coz I don't have the six pack for it. Hmm... six month would look good, though. I can imagine me wearing this very easy.

Tattoo. Hmm *blush*
In terms of clothes, tattoo is quite extreme since it's ... you know... permanent. So shitty tattoo is not acceptable and not agreeable, ladies and gentlemen. Not all people can rock an anchor tattoo on the arm like Popeye, or a heart with an arrow through with Mom written on it on the arm like Brutus. Make sure it's actually going to flatter your shape or that it actually is a part of your identity. (Hmm, I think I would need to write more about this later...)

Anyways, that last photo is sexy. It reminds me of Prinscarming the Manyun :)
